Google Ads audit for Jacksonville businesses.
A certified specialist reviews your Google Ads account line by line and hands you a prioritized list of what’s wasting budget, what’s missing and what to fix first. Run it yourself afterward, or have us manage it.
When a Google Ads audit pays off.
You run ads yourself
You set the account up, it gets some calls, but you’re not sure whether the spend is working or how to improve it.
Your agency’s reports don’t add up
Clicks and impressions look fine, but the phone isn’t ringing more. You want an independent second opinion.
Costs went up, leads went down
Cost per click or cost per lead crept up over the last few months, and nobody can explain why.
You’re taking over an account
A new marketing manager, a former employee’s setup or an agency hand-off. You need to know what you’ve inherited.
You’re about to raise the budget
Before spending more, make sure the account isn’t scaling the same mistakes.
Performance Max took over
Most of the budget now runs through Performance Max and you can’t tell what it’s buying.
What we check in your account.
Conversion tracking
Are calls, forms and bookings tracked correctly in Google Ads and GA4, counted once, and set as the goals bidding optimizes for?
Location settings
Is the account targeting people in your service area, or anyone “interested in” it? Are the right ZIP codes and radiuses in place?
Search terms & negatives
What people actually searched before clicking, how much went to irrelevant searches, and which negative keywords are missing.
Keywords & match types
Whether broad match is running without the guardrails it needs, and whether keyword themes match your services.
Campaign structure
How budgets are split, whether campaigns compete with each other, and whether your best services get enough spend.
Bidding strategy
Whether the bid strategy fits the amount of conversion data you have, and whether targets are realistic.
Lost impression share
How often you lose ads to budget versus ad rank, and what each one costs you.
Ads & assets
Ad copy, headlines, sitelinks, call and location assets, and whether ads speak to the searches they show for.
Landing pages
Speed on a phone, message match with the ad, and how easy it is to call, book or request a quote.
Performance Max
Brand exclusions, asset groups, audience signals and whether it’s finding new customers or claiming searches you’d win anyway.
Display Network & placements
Whether search campaigns are leaking budget into display placements and apps.
Auto-applied recommendations
Which changes Google has been making to your account automatically, and which ones should be switched off.
Ad schedule & devices
Ads running when nobody answers, and whether mobile, desktop and time-of-day performance justify adjustments.
Account ownership & access
Whether your business owns the account and billing, and who has admin access.
Local Services Ads & Business Profile
For local businesses: whether LSA, your Google Business Profile and search ads are working together.
Many of these are covered in our post on the Google Ads mistakes Jacksonville businesses make. The audit checks your account against all of them, plus anything specific to your category.
A prioritized fix list, not a 60-page export.
Findings in plain language
What’s working, what’s wasting budget and what’s missing, written for a business owner, not a PPC specialist.
Fixes ranked by impact
Quick wins you can make this week, separated from structural changes that take longer, so you know where to start.
A walkthrough call
We go through the findings with you and answer questions, so you’re not left decoding a report.
Your choice of next step
Make the fixes in-house, have us make them, or hand us ongoing Google Ads management. Any of the three is fine.
Four steps, no password sharing.
Request the audit
Tell us about your business, service area and goals on the contact form or by phone.
Grant read-only access
You invite us to your Google Ads account (and GA4, if you use it) with read-only access from your own login. We never ask for your password.
We review the account
A certified specialist works through the checklist above, looks at your landing pages and pulls the numbers behind each finding.
Walk through the findings
We share the prioritized fix list and talk through it with you. Remove our access whenever you like.
An audit from people who know the local market.
Generic audit tools can flag settings, but they don’t know that a Jacksonville plumber shouldn’t be paying for clicks from Brunswick, that a St. Augustine inn may want visitors searching from Atlanta, or that Ponte Vedra Beach and Nocatee customers search differently. We do, and we check your targeting with that in mind.
We audit accounts for businesses across Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra Beach, Orange Park and the rest of Northeast Florida, as well as businesses elsewhere that want a second opinion.
FAQ
Do you need my Google Ads password?
No. You add us as a user from inside your own Google Ads account with read-only access, and remove us whenever you like. Never share your Google password with anyone, including us.
Will you change anything in my account during the audit?
No. With read-only access we can review everything but can’t change campaigns, budgets or billing. Changes happen only if you ask us to make them afterward.
What if I don’t have conversion tracking set up?
That’s one of the most common findings, and usually the first fix. The audit will show what to track and how, and we can set it up for you.
What if my current agency controls the account?
Ask them to add you as an admin, or to grant us read-only access. If the account was set up under the agency’s own login, we can help you get ownership or set up a new account in your business’s name.
Do you audit Local Services Ads and Performance Max too?
Yes. We review Performance Max settings and asset groups, and for local businesses we look at how Local Services Ads, your Google Business Profile and search campaigns fit together.
Do I have to hire you to manage the account afterward?
No. Many businesses take the fix list and make the changes in-house. If you’d rather we handle it, we can make the fixes or manage the account going forward.
Is an audit the same as Google’s optimization score?
No. Google’s optimization score measures how many of Google’s own recommendations you’ve applied, and some of those increase spend without improving results. An audit looks at whether the account is producing leads at a cost that works for your business.
Can you guarantee the audit will lower my cost per lead?
No one can honestly guarantee results from ad auctions. What the audit gives you is a clear, evidence-based list of the problems costing you money and the order to fix them in.
